Mrs. Ibtisam Al Naqbi,

Manager, eFADA

A seasoned and passionate lover of all things library related, Ibtisam al Naqbi brings a wealth of experience to her role as eFADA manager, stemming from her 16 years of experience in this field. Her career started at Zayed University, where she began as a circulation assistant, working hands-on with students and researchers. Her love for this work quickly caught the attention of her superiors, where she was then swiftly promoted to the Reference department. After 8 years at Zayed University, she worked as a library specialist at the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research. 5 Years later, she moved on to Rabdan Academy where she was tasked with creating the Academy Library from scratch – a challenge she accepted cheerfully and with excellent results. She later moved to join the Ankabut team in early 2016 as the Manager of eFADA, the UAE’s national consortium of Academic and Research Libraries. Her duties include liaising with the various members, ensuring that they align with the country’s vision for its knowledge economy and overseeing the provision of the highest quality of service and representation for the consortium.  Whether she is training librarians on the ground, negotiating Library subscription and service contracts or overall promoting unique solutions to our various members, Ibtisam brings to her role a contagious positive attitude and a passion for libraries that is hard to miss.
